    This is definitely something for people to consider - I really think that many of us get caught up in the cool apps that pop up all the time that we don't really examine the fine print or what the technology is actually doing.

    It's kind of like those "discount cards" for the grocery store that really are used to determine your spending and shopping habits so marketers can send you targeted material.

    In the 90s some of the discount cards would ask for social security number and I wouldn't get them. This is far worse though since you're giving away information to EVERYONE.

    That shows that RIM respects privacy as this SHOULD be an opt-in kind of thing. Can you imagine posting pictures of your studio which end up providing the exact location of your home to everyone online? It makes other attempts at anonymity moot.
