GDGTGRL: Bank Emails Customer Data to Wrong Account Exposing 1,325 Customers to Potential Identity Theft

Every since you made me aware of this incident, it has been hard for me to believe that a financial institution would ACTUALLY email PII (personally identifiable information), with all the procedures we have to follow these days to protect our identity and others. I wonder what happened to the person who sent the message and who was the recipient who didn't have a corporate email account.

They are saying that this file was inadvertently sent. They meant to send a statement to a customer that requested it. Either way, everything I said still applies. Having worked at a bank, I remember jumping through all kinds of hoops to send data to our vendors and recently acquired companies.
